Default Elem Yohlon Haven insect farming? (Hard mode)

Has anyone figured out a good way to do this? There is usually 1-2 healers, and all the damage you take from melee attacks. Mist Form + Serpent's quickness will keep you alive permanently because there are no spellcasters or enchant strippers. However, I haven't found how to do enough damage. Enchantment armor-boosters seem to do very little, if I take armor of earth + kinetic armor, I still die within seconds. The most successful run was when I used Magenetic Aura, arcane echo'd Sandstorm, and hit a Tenai's Crystals. 3 or 4 died, before I died. If you're lucky, you'll last the entire Magnetic Aura, but as soon as that's over, you're dead, unless you somehow manage to kill the whole group. Any ideas? I'm sure this must be farmable.

Have you tried the tactic where you hid from them in that little crevice in front of them? Before HM, I used to do this farm alot on my mesmer, and didn't need to bring any defense because they were all rangers and couldn't hit through the wall. I dunno how they changed that group in HM other than the expected extra speed, etc, but maybe try the hiding tactic.

Stoneflesh Aura and armor buffs should reduce damage to 0.

not in HM. Not even a terra tank can reduce all dmg done there to 0.

The armor buffs alone seem to do basically nothing, I have been dying in seconds. I'll have to try Stoneflesh + the armor buffs, but once stoneflesh ends, hopefully everything will be dead.

55 would be your best bet, I'm sorry to say. So far they and warriors (and by extension dervishes) are the only ones that can farm reliably

there used to be a build with mag aura+glyph of renewal that people used to farm uw, that could work.

I managed to kill a group of them with my Dervish but the Warriors use Lion's Comfort and the 50% attack increase to make killing them so much slower; not worth it at all.

Just tested 55 - doesn't work. Termites have lion's comfort on top of queens healing with LoD.
IMHO, cannot be done solo. Too much healing and damage.

I think A-net made their bars specifically so I would be very very difficult to solo them IMHO, because that is UbEr HaRd.

I am able to kill 1 or 2, with stoneflesh + armor of earth they do a decent amount of damage, add in kinetic armor and they STILL do a decent amount of damage, and I dont have enough energy to keep kinetic up every 10 seconds. The only way to do enough damage to kill these guys is to arcane echo sandstorm, and even with ward against foes or something else that slows them down, they still eventually get out of that. I wanted to make some sort of fire bomb, but after putting enough attribute points into earth and energy storage, theres really no way to make the fire powerful enough.

arkain - If I'm going to take an elite that isn't for damage, I would just use mist form + serpent's quickness - there's basically a guarantee that I won't be taking damage, but the damage that I'd be giving isn't enough to kill anything.

Too bad, because one of the two or three that I managed to kill dropped a gold

take the hero bonder that people use for the hero and warrior FOW farm....use terra tank with sliver armor. i was getting around 376 exp per kill but there are barely any drops that are good, but go figure its an over farmed spot

I've been able to clear all of them with my Ele, but it's just not worth it. I used...

stoneflesh aura
stone striker
obsidian flesh
armor of earth
kinetic armor
sliver armor
aura of rest
mantra of earth

Earth:16 (12+1+3)
Energy: rest
Insp: 11

I ended up having to aggro every bug out there to kill anything, and I almost died, health dropped to about 100hp. The mass aggro killed most of them, but to kill the rest is awfully slow and painful. And drops where horrid also, I think I netted about...250gp...for 20min of farming. Not worth it at all IMO.

I don't understand...why would you bring Obsidian flesh? There are no spell casters, the only damage you take from attacks. If you can survive with that build, take Sandstorm as your elite.

the more the better. Its not that it doesn't work, its that you're using it wrong. Carry the mob to the healers, hit the visages, let famine do the work.
I'll post SS's if you need proof.

I tried them with the regular terra tank + echo sliver armour and it works well. It is noticeably slower than normal mode but works. You should stand adjacent to the healers first so they die first.
They will do some damage even through the terra shell but nothing that cannot be healed via the Aura of Restoration and constantly casting spells.

[edit] but whats the point? they aren't dropping anything

i did do that. i carried to it the healers and such but the problem was that they weren't regening any energy, so they never got up from 0 i saw like a million -3s
and famine was in range but no dmg.. after i moved from my huge mob they started taking dmg.
